On October 26,1856 the Dorchester Methodist Church had their first worship service. Today we continue to worship Jesus.
Come and see the exciting things God is doing through those who
love, worship, and serve Jesus.
Loving, Worshiping, and Serving Jesus
Being a Christian is about having a personal relationship with God.
Walking into a new Church can be very scary. But when you experience the love of God at work you will not need to hold onto that fear.
The Psalmist Wrote, "I was glad when they said to me, Let us go to the house of the Lord!” Today we invite you to see why the Psalmist was glad.
And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
God inspired the Scriptures. The Bible is the inerrant word of God containing all that is needed for salvation.
Everything in the Scriptures is God's Word. All of it is useful for teaching and helping people and for correcting them and showing them how to live. The Scriptures train God's servants to do all kinds of good deeds.
Our Pastor:
Pastor John Lore (pictured right) has been a pastor in the United Methodist Church for over 50 years. He is also the pastor of Port Norris United Methodist Church.
This is my commandment, that you love one another, as I have loved you.

Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many.
Baptism is a sacrament ordained by Christ. Baptism can be received at any age. Your baptism is a sign and seal that you belong to Christ. Any Christian baptism is recognized by The United Methodist Church.
Good Works will never help you earn your way into heaven BUT all we do shows others the faith that is within us. Good Works are important!
For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is also dead. NRSV
Communion or The Lord's Supper is celebrated monthly. The Lord's Supper was initiated by Jesus and we are to celebrate in remembrance of him.
I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth;
And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord: who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, dead and buried; the third day he rose from the dead;
he ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic (universal) church,
the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting.
Amen
